The Liquid Product Development Scientist will manage new product development projects for marketed and new Liquid Nutritional products. Projects involve experimental design, ingredients evaluation, formulation, bench-top trials, scale-up trials, troubleshooting, investigation and technical support to third party contract manufacturers. Activities also include weighing ingredients, operation of pilot plant equipment, product testing and stability data review.

This position will provide technical support for new products required by QA, Operations and/or Regulatory groups. Maintain and up-date physical stability and analytical data on new and existing products and Recommend product and process improvements.

Required Experience

College degree BS or advanced degree in Food Science, Food Engineering or related field is highly preferred. In lieu of a degree consideration may be given to those who hold 6
years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience or equivalent experience with manufacturing and/or development of commercially marketed liquid nutritional products required; proven track record of new products developed and commercialized.
Knowledge of different processing technologies including hot-fill, post-sterilized, aseptic as well as use of emulsifier and stabilizer ingredients preferred.
Ability to operate pilot plant equipment is essential.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required including technical report writing and presentation skills.
Willingness to learn in a fast paced dynamic setting. Capable to manage multiple priorities effectively with minimal oversight. Effective oral and written communication skills working across the organization to further product development goals. Must show an attention to details in manufacture and evaluation of ingredients/new products/new processes. Willingness to travel in support of off-site manufacturing trials as needed (estimated 10-20%25).
Supervisory experience beneficial.
